About / Philosophy
Sean brings dedication, passion, and expertise to his training. Hailing from the great northern state of Michigan, he is ready to take on clients of all ages and abilities to help them reach their fitness and health goals. As a father of three daughters, Sean maintains a busy lifestyle with a work hard/play hard mindset. He is no stranger to adversity and overcoming challenges, as he became profoundly deaf at the age of 16-months. His first language was American Sign Language and in 2014, he received his first set of cochlear implants at the University of Michigan to allow him to hear and communicate even better. Sean views all clients individually and customizes programs for their personal abilities. Despite his own challenges, Sean pushes himself and his clients to be the best versions of themselves.
Sean’s fitness career began at Grand Valley State University, where he worked as a weight-room attendant at the student recreation center. He graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Pedagogy (physical education). Sean’s love for sports and fitness led him to becoming a personal trainer in 2011 at Snap Fitness in Howell, MI. That same year, he became a certified personal trainer through NASM. In 2012, Sean and another trainer from Snap Fitness partnered to open MI Fitness in Brighton, MI. Sean managed the training program at MI Fitness from 2012- April 2019. During these years, he began a side hobby of videography to create marketing material for social media and a video training library. In May 2019, Sean formed his own fitness brand, Sean Rhinard Fitness, which offered customized personal training, group training, online training, and apparel. He operated out of the Michigan Institute of Athletics and The Training Room in Brighton, MI until his move to Sarasota in October, 2019. Sean looks forward to building new relationships with the SRQ team and its members.
